The owners of this Scottsdale, Arizona custom home were faced with an increasing demand for space and functionality in their existing home, but did not want to leave an area they loved. So, instead of listing their home in search of a new one, they elected to do a full redesign and remodel, including their guest home, exterior landscaping and pool area.
Legacy transformed this average custom home into a luxurious (but not pretentious) mini-mansion. The exterior of the home was recreated with new finishes and an entry court yard. The existing kitchen was enlarged and upgraded to suit any gourmet chef. The master suite was updated with all new cabinetry and finishes. While sitting by the pool in the back yard you would think you were at a resort.

Kitchen (5 images)
The adjoining kitchen, originally too small and confining, was opened up through the removal of load bearing and partitioning walls that previously prohibited easy access from the dining and living room area. All working areas were reconfigured, bringing more functionality for multiple cooks in the kitchen, including doubled counter space and a buffet style serving area that wraps its way into the dining area. The cabinet space was nearly tripled, and the refrigerator and freezer capacities now store twice their previous amounts. A large walk in pantry keeps bulk foods and supplies out of sight.
Master Bathroom (4 images)
The master bathroom was deficient in providing ample storage space. Adult height cabinetry was added with a kitchen-style 'Lazy Susan' for storing personal grooming items, toiletries and linens. The shower, which was not initially tall enough for its occupants, was enlarged, eliminating the door and adding multiple shower heads, offering a spa like quality for the owners to enjoy.
Interior Rooms (4 images)
To accommodate the additional space they needed for their active, growing family, we designed an addition that included a family room with entertainment center, powder room and extra bedroom. One major priority was to integrate the undersized, enclosed kitchen and separate dining room into a functional entertainment area for family and friends--without sacrificing beauty and purpose.

On the outside, the landscape, pool and exterior also needed rejuvenation. The existing pool decking was replaced with flagstone and fitted with a custom load bearing pool cover that automatically retracts when the pool deck is open. Automation controls including the activation of special water features, custom misting and fog systems are accessible via buttons placed at the patio door. The master bedroom, closed in from the outside pool area, was outfitted with a door onto a private courtyard with a spa and lounging area.

We updated the entire exterior including the roof, stucco siding with added stack stone, windows, custom garage doors and then redesigned the landscape lighting and irrigation.
