Thirty plus years of hands-on experience in residential, commercial and marine design, fabrication and construction have cultivated Rick Benson's orientation to exceptional craftsmanship and complete customer satisfaction. A native of Washington State, Rick utilized inherent design skills and an unyielding attention to detail to finish projects for some of the country's wealthiest entrepreneurs... and he has brought this same focus to Legacy - first as a Project Superintendent and now as Project Consultant.
In fact, Rick's extensive field experience coupled with proven communicative abilities make him particularly well-suited to this position. (Rick earned his degree in broadcasting.) As it relates to remodeling, Rick's philosophy is twofold: 1) a person's home should reflect "the needs and energy of the family"; and 2) the proper creative design will address those needs while enhancing the home's value.
As a self-taught chef, Rick enjoys preparing epicurean fare and pairing it with the "perfect wine". Accordingly, he appreciates the necessity of a properly functioning kitchen.
Rick moved to the Valley eight years ago with his wife, Toinette, and their two children, who, along with three beautiful granddaughters, remain the focus of his life. In addition to spending time with his lovely family, he enjoys music, travel and golf but not necessarily in that order.
Rick Daignault brings to Legacy nearly twenty years construction industry experience – experience that traverses the US/Canadian border. A native of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Rick moved to Arizona with his family in 1997; and finding the sunshine and “warm” weather particularly agreeable, he made The Valley of the Sun his permanent home.
To the benefit of his clients, Rick’s unwavering commitment to superior customer service has been his continuous trademark. In fact, while employed with After Eight Interiors, an interior design and installation company, Rick helped create and monitor the company’s customer satisfaction program. In addition, a diverse background in kitchen and bath remodeling, interior design and floor covering sales, has provided Rick with an appreciation for cost/value considerations. Reviewing these considerations with his clients has helped earn Rick a reputation for honesty and integrity – a prerequisite to Legacy employment.
Rick enjoys spending free time with his two children, Nicole and Zachary, as well as golfing and playing the guitar.
Greg Dumka may well be one of the most thoughtful remodelers you’ll happen to meet. That is to say, by his very nature he endeavors to become acquainted with clients on a more personal level and to comprehend a family’s needs. He listens carefully to the description of their remodeling “vision” and helps them create the optimal solution. This personalized approach, coupled with a meticulous attention to detail, has elicited such compliments as, “that’s exactly what we pictured”.
A native of the Detroit-metro area, Greg began his construction career in 1991 by establishing Cambridge Construction, a residential remodeling company that specialized in whole-house remodels and custom homes. His hands-on approach and high standards for quality enabled him to “…work from one house to the next through entire neighborhoods”. However, Michigan winters were providing an increasingly greater motivation to relocate to a warmer climate.
Accordingly, after a family vacation in 2003 Greg and his wife, Lisa, decided to bring their two children to the Valley of the Sun; which they did the following year. The family enjoys hiking and other outdoor activities; Greg and his son practice martial arts.
Dan Murphy brings to the Legacy Team a uniquely creative and artistic style that serves his remodeling clients well. With a background in professional music, as well as new home sales, Dan is particularly adept at balancing the aesthetic with the practical. His attention to detail and desire for excellence enable him to assist clients in designing their dream home.
During his time with Pulte Homes, Dan learned a great deal about home construction and design. He also earned top honors as a sales person, as well as the trust and respect of his clients, many of whom have become lasting friends.
A native of Chicago, Dan moved to Arizona with his wife in 2001; and since that time, they've been blessed with twin girls, who are the joy of their lives. In his spare time, he enjoys playing the piano and directing the choir at his local church.
Dan Murphy is a valued member of the Legacy Team and is anxious to help his clients turn their remodeling dreams into reality.
It might be said that Brian Young is a jack-of-all-trades. An Ohio native, he obtained an Associates degree with honors in mechanical engineering before graduating with a BSBA in Marketing from The Ohio State University --all while working in remodeling sales. He's been a corporate sales consultant, worked in the mortgage industry; and in 2004, moved to the Phoenix area to continue his highly successful remodeling career.
Brian thrives on the design process, attributing this exact, yet creative talent, to his grandmother, an art teacher, and his father, a former US Navy officer and pilot. He is an accomplished designer having designed hundreds of very successful remodeling projects, many of which have been award winning. Whether it is a remodel of an existing space or a completely new addition, Brian enjoys helping Arizona homeowners realize their remodeling dreams.
In addition, Brian has been elected to the following positions: Vice-president of NARI's Greater Phoenix Chapter (2009), Chairman of NARI's Ethics Committee (2009), Arizona's NARI National Liaison (2008), in addition to serving as a judge for the 2009 NARI National CotY awards. When asked about how Legacy stacks up to the competition, Brian replied: "Legacy ranks at the top; it is second to none!"
Brian resides in Peoria with his wife, Jill, and four year old son, Keegan. When he is not spending his free time with family, Brian enjoys playing golf and volleyball.
