LEGACY ADVANCES TO NEXT LEVEL IN BUILDING NATIONAL RECOGNITION

(SCOTTSDALE, AZ., February 10, 2010)

Legacy Design Build Remodeling took another step towards national recognition with the recent announcement that two of their entries won in the National Association of the Remodeling Industry's (NARI), CotY (Contractor of the Year) awards in the South Central region.  Legacy previously won six CotYs in NARI's Arizona Chapter competition last November.

Legacy's winning entries included categories for entire house remodel, $500,001 to $1,000,000 and entire house remodel, $1,000,000+.  Both properties are located in the Phoenix metropolitan area.

The winner for the entire house remodel under $1,000,000 (click here for before and after photos) featured a complete transformation of an existing home currently outgrown by its family. Because of pre-existing setback restrictions, Legacy could only construct additional square footage by adding onto the back of the home or building a second story.  By doing both, Legacy fulfilled the homeowner's vision of an expansive, yet comfortable living environment, with secluded work and private relaxation areas. A new family room with extensive entertainment amenities-- including a media center with whole-house audio--dramatically increased the recreational space. Children's bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and a large master suite with adjoining bath and walk-in closets further enhanced the overall living space. The second story offers a private guest suite.   Legacy's project consultant for the design and remodel was Steve Yeomans.

The winner of the entire house remodel over $1,000,000 (click here for before and after photos) involved an addition of 2400 square feet to the interior main home as well as a total upgrade of the exterior landscaping, guest home and pool area.  Overseen by Legacy's project consultant, Greg Dumka, the renovation involved adding on a new family room, powder room and extra bedroom while integrating the undersized, enclosed kitchen and separate dining room into a functional entertainment area.  The master bedroom and bath also received a face-lift in the form of additional built-in storage, increased shower space and a private entrance to the outdoor spa and lounging area.  A "sport court" area with room for both basketball and tennis was built in the center of the backyard with a hardened bike path for the children.

Both entries will now face all regional CotY award winners in NARI's national competition to be announced on April 10, 2010, at the Wyndham Phoenix.

Legacy Design Build Remodeling Constructs Clear Win in Regional Contractor of the Year Awards

(SCOTTSDALE, AZ. November 20, 2009)

The Arizona chapter of the National Association of Remodeling Industry (NARI) recently announced the results of their regional annual 2010 awards competition for Contractor of the Year, naming Legacy Design Build Remodeling a winner in six categories.

Known as the CotY awards in the industry, these prestigious merits of excellence are awarded to members in good standing who demonstrate functionality, design, innovation, degree of difficulty and craftsmanship in achieving their clients’ remodeling goals.  Of the 23 categories represented, Legacy took top honors in almost one-third of the entries, as follow:  residential kitchen $80,000 to $120,000; residential bath $30,000 to $60,000; residential addition under $100,000; residential addition $100,000 to $250,000; residential exterior $100,000 and over; and entire house renovation over $1,000,000.

For Legacy, the affirmation by NARI supports their continuing corporate efforts towards establishing a solid reputation of quality remodeling and design services underlined with a sound ethical perspective.  Absent from participating in the CotY competition since receiving two awards in 2004, the company directive was to focus on building a successful business model first.  “We felt confident that if we did our job well, then the awards would ultimately follow”, says Mark J. Olson, Legacy’s CEO.

“This recognition from the National Association of the Remodeling Industry further reinforces the positive feedback we’ve received from our clients.”

Legacy entries will now be judged in NARI’s national competition with winners to be announced on in the spring of 2010.

Legacy Named "Best in AZ" by Ranking Arizona for Fourth Year

(SCOTTSDALE, AZ. April 10, 2009)

Ranking Arizona and Arizona Business Magazine has named Legacy Custom Building and Remodeling, Inc., with headquarters in Scottsdale, the state’s top remodeler for the fourth consecutive year, in its 12th annual readers' poll.

Over 35,000 residents participated in Arizona’s largest business opinion poll by casting their votes for deserving businesses. Over 250 categories are represented; the top ten in each category are ranked. Its previous awards include Professional Remodeler's "2002 Remodeler of the Year" award, one of the "101 Best Companies to Work For" in the residential construction industry and a finalist in the 2002 Better Business Bureau's Business Ethics award. Legacy was also nominated for Arizona State University’s Spirit of Enterprise Award in 2006.

Despite the down turning economy and reduced number of housing starts in the Valley, Legacy has been able to maintain a solid client base, while attracting new business. According to Legacy’s president, Mark J. Olson, this is due in part to the homeowners’ decision to invest in their current home, forfeiting the “trade up” mindset that has prevailed over the last four to five years. “Remodeling projects shouldn’t be considered because they’re going to increase the value of the home, but because they will enhance someone’s lifestyle.”

Since being founded in 1988 by Rosie Romero, host of "Rosie on the House" a home improvement talk show on KTAR radio, Legacy has steadily increased its volume while maintaining a reputation of honest, quality workmanship—attributes Olson believes are essential in hard times, explaining,  “Our customers want to feel comfortable knowing they are receiving the best value for money spent.  At Legacy, we are dedicated to always exceeding those expectations.”

Scottsdale-based Legacy Custom Building & Remodeling employs 32 individuals and works with over 100 subcontractors in the field. Recognized as one of the nation's leading remodeling firms by the prestigious National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), Legacy specializes in bath and kitchen remodeling, as well as entire home renovations.
