Legacy Design Build Remodeling Constructs Clear Win in Regional Contractor of the Year Awards

(SCOTTSDALE, AZ., November 17, 2009) The Arizona chapter of the National Association of Remodeling Industry (NARI) recently announced the results of their regional annual 2010 awards competition for Contractor of the Year, naming Legacy Design Build Remodeling a winner in six categories.

Known as the CotY awards in the industry, these prestigious merits of excellence are awarded to members in good standing who demonstrate functionality, design, innovation, degree of difficulty and craftsmanship in achieving their clients' remodeling goals.  Of the 23 categories represented, Legacy took top honors in almost one-third of the entries, as follow:  residential kitchen $80,000 to $120,000; residential bath $30,000 to $60,000; residential addition under $100,000; residential addition $100,000 to $250,000; residential exterior $100,000 and over; and entire house renovation over $1,000,000.

For Legacy, the affirmation by NARI supports their continuing corporate efforts towards establishing a solid reputation of quality remodeling and design services underlined with a sound ethical perspective.  Absent from participating in the CotY competition since receiving two awards in 2004, the company directive was to focus on building a successful business model first.  "We felt confident that if we did our job well, then the awards would ultimately follow", says Mark J. Olson, Legacy's CEO.

"This recognition from the National Association of the Remodeling Industry further reinforces the positive feedback we've received from our clients."

Legacy entries will now be judged in NARI's national competition with winners to be announced on in the spring of 2010.

(SCOTTSDALE, AZ. April 24, 2007)

Ranking Arizona and Arizona Business Magazine has named Legacy Custom Building and Remodeling, Inc., the top remodeler in the state for the second year in a row in its 10th annual readers' poll.

Over 35,000 residents participate in the state's largest business opinion poll by casting their votes for deserving businesses. Over 250 categories are represented; the top ten in each category are ranked.

"To win this category in consecutive years is an indication of Legacy’s consistent commitment to quality”, says Mark J. Olson, Legacy's president. Its previous awards include Professional Remodeler's "2002 Remodeler of the Year" award, one of the "101 Best Companies to Work For" in the residential construction industry and a finalist in the 2002 Better Business Bureau's Business Ethics award. Legacy was also nominated for Arizona State University’s Spirit of Enterprise Award in 2006.

Since being founded in 1988 by Rosie Romero, host of "Rosie on the House" a home improvement talk show on KTAR radio, Legacy has steadily increased its volume while maintaining a reputation of honest, quality workmanship. "The key is communication", explains Olson. "Our project consultants work on a one-to-one basis with each customer, helping guide them through the design and remodeling process". Olson acknowledges the difficulty of living through a major renovation. "Remodeling can be unpleasant. We do our best to effectively manage the process and minimize the disruptions."

Regional COTY Award:

Legacy Named Regional Winner of COTY Award

Scottsdale, Arizona-based Legacy Custom Builders, Inc. was twice named a regional winner in the 2004 Contractor of the Year Award competition in the Residential Kitchen $100,000 and Over category. The awards are part of an annual competition held by the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) and are widely considered the premier competition of its kind throughout the remodeling industry. Preliminary judging was conducted by a panel of eleven distinguished individuals with extensive knowledge of design and construction. Consideration was based on innovation, problem solving, functionality, aesthetics, craftsmanship, degree of difficulty and entry presentation.

Mark Dixon, CR, CKD, acted as Legacy's Project Consultant on both remodeling projects and was elated to learn of the awards. One project was described as a "Metropolitan Hideaway", which included a built-in breakfast nook and a custom hand-painted backslpash, transforming an outdated large single family home into an inner-city sanctuary. The other award-winning project incorporated a "See Through" solution of a wine cellar window with etched vines and grapes. The 1980's kitchen had 'a hodge-podge of appliances and an interfering island', which was transformed into an open, family-friendly space. Both projects required Mr. Dixon to maintain existing elements, while creating a new environment that met each family member's individual needs.

Founded in 1988, Legacy Custom Builders has developed a reputation as one of the Valley’s leading residential remodeling companies. The company, which has received many honors throughout its history, was named a finalist in the 2002 Better Business Bureau’s Business Ethics Awards and was recently recognized by Professional Remodeler magazine as Remodeler of The Year for 2002. One of Legacy’s co-owners, Rosie Romero, is the host of Phoenix radio station, KTAR’s, home improvement talk show, entitled “Rosie on the House”.
